These guys showed up bright and early this morning.
They braved the 0F temperature wiring our new electrical panel.
Did they disconnect the power? No way, they did the switch live.
They did however disconnect the garage 'feed'.
New combo panel powered fine, electrician Chris wired up the old
meter spot so the house remains powered during the inside rewire.
We are now powering Melanie's new studio via an extension cord
until we can trench. Based on this coooold winter, that will be
some time in the spring.
Meanwhile in the house, Brandon started trenching the walls. This afternoon's project: Pull wires from the new basement sub-panel to the attic for wiring the second floor.
We're using the old chimney for wiring and heating duct to the master bedroom (no heat upstairs for the past 95 years). Here Brandon uses his Hilti.
Brandon bored an attic hole. He stuffed the flexible ducting in from the top.
While I pulled from the basement. I got the dirty job.
Forgot my mask, big mistake.
Insert your "Chim-Chimery" lyric here.
Its a dirty job but someone's gotta do it.
The guys at the local IBEW call me Lambchop!
